Some of these guys were at the party on Friday, McCastle said. The initial fight started at the party and it continued on Saturday. No one was seriously injured in the battle that involved baseball bats, iron bars and other club-like devices. However, some of the students walked away from the fight nursing superficial wounds and at least one instance of broken bones. At least one student received a broken hand in the melee, authorities said. No one was reportedly hospitalized for serious injuries. However, some students likely sought medical treatment for injuries they received during the scuffle, officials said. No knives or guns were reportedly involved in the free-for-all, authorities said. All 18 were charged and brought to the Fayette County Sheriffs Office. A phone call from a resident prompted the sheriffs department to take action. We were notified about the incident, McCastle said. We proceeded with the investigation and all 18 students were charged with affray.
