Zoo Atlanta event scheduled for next month, to benefit hospice programThe Children's Hospice Program of Hospice Atlanta is on a safari - looking for corporate and community sponsors for this year's Big-To-Do at the Zoo. This annual family event is the principal fundraiser for the Children's Program of Visiting Nurse/Hospice Atlanta and we want to make it bigger and better than ever. In the 13-year history of this event, thanks to the support of thousands of people, The Children's Program has helped many critically and terminally ill children receive the care they need. Many loyal corporate and community sponsors have signed up, but because of the significant part the sponsors play in our financial success, there is always room to involve more Atlanta companies and community leaders. There are several levels at which an individual or a company can join in: King of Beasts, $5,000. The Big-To-Do at the Zoo, set for April 17, is a great evening of family fun at Zoo Atlanta, with activities for the kids, music from Kid Brothers Band, one-on-one experiences with the animals, rides on the Norfolk Southern Zoo Express Train and the Nabisco Endangered Species Carousel, and a great dinner from Bennett Brown's LowCountry Barbecue. This is one event you won't want to miss. And while you're having fun, you'll be helping The Children's Program- a comprehensive medical and resource-based program that provides in-home care for children suffering from a critical or terminal illness. Medical, emotional, and spiritual care is provided by specially-trained nurses, therapists, and social workers, whose focus is to keep their precious charges comfortable and free from fear, while living as normal a life as possible, surrounded by loved ones, friends, family, pets and toys. If you're interested in becoming a sponsor, or if you'd like to be a volunteer, call 404-527-0670. | ||
