Bad Links? | Shamrock Park to be lit this springBy JOHN THOMPSON Tyrones T-ballers will be able to use Shamrock Park this season. The Tyrone Town Council voted unanimously to turn the lights on at Shamrock Park during the months of March and April to allow practices and games of the Tyrone Youth Baseball Association to be staged at the facility. We just really need it until Daylight Savings Time kicks in, said association president Randy Blount. Blount said the biggest group using the facility will be T-ball players. He also explained the association charges an impact fee of $10 for each out of county player that participates in the association, which should cover the cost of lighting the field. He also added that work was being done on bathrooms at the facility, so that a mom would feel comfortable using them instead of the portable restrooms at the park. |
