Bad Links? | SMHS debaters bound for nationalsThe debate team at Starrs Mill High School recently broke the state record for the largest number of national qualifiers in state history with 14 students winning. These students will be traveling to the National Forensic Leagues National Tournament in Philadelphia this summer. The national qualifiers from Starrs Mill are: Winston Frederick, Andrew Ash, Alley Waldrop and Shohn Greiner for Public Forum; Rachel Goshi, Jillian Samels, Amber Johnson and Sara Jackson for Duo Interpretation; Matt Decker for Humorous Interpretation; Andrew Zheng for Foreign Extemeperaneous Speaking; Gyawu Mahama and Meg Beyer for Lincoln Douglas and Joey Chaudoin and Adam Hollister for U.S. Extemperaneous Speaking. The Starrs Mill debate team recently won the district tournament and the Sweepstakes Trophy at the NFL District Debate Tournament. They are one of the top debate teams in the nation. |
