Bad Links? | Progress Dinner tickets herald the arrival of springBy JOHN THOMPSON One of the great rites of spring is set for April 22-23 when the Senoia Area Historical Society hosts its annual Progressive Dinner. The event has become the social event of the season in the eastern Coweta city and quickly sells out. This has always been an evening to remember for guests as well as for the many community volunteers who help in the participating houses. Five beautiful antique homes will open their doors and serve a gourmet dinner in the downtown historic district of Senoia. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Senoia Area Historical Society and new Historical Society president Murray McAfee has big plans for the organization. Wed really like to raise enough money where we can upgrade our historical society house into a museum that school kids and visitors can tour, said McAfee. One of the new homes on the tour this year is the Mann home that features a French Provincial decorating scheme and is the home of former Mayor Lester Mann and his wife, Annie Doris. Guests will begin the dinner and tour at either 6:30 or 7:30 p.m., with a total of 70 tickets available for each night. Tickets are $40 each paid in advance, and can be reserved by calling 770-599-3366. |
