Bad Links? | Booth Student moves on to state spelling beeOne of the best spellers in Fayette will represent the county at the annual State Spelling Bee sponsored by the Georgia Association of Educators and Atlanta Daily World. Tim Thornburg, a sixth-grader at J.C. Booth Middle, will join other top spellers from around the state to compete at the 44th annual bee on March 25 at Georgia State University. In order to advance to the state competition, Tim had to win spelling bees at both the school and county level. As a county level winner, he advanced to the district bee where he was also a winner and qualified for the state bee. The winner of the state bee will advance to the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. this May. |
