Bad Links? | Local DAR welcomes new memberBy CAROLYN CARY The Fayette-Starrs Mill chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution welcomed new member Carin Quinn at its recent meeting at the home of Regent Marilyn Frazar. Wendy Fox was also recognized at the meeting as the chapters Outstanding Junior Member. Guest speaker was John Sloan, president of the Marquis de Lafayette chapter, Sons of the American Revolution. He gave an synopsis of the SAR and how it serves the community. He is a member of the Georgia Genealogical Society, sons of Confederate Veterans, the Fayette County Historical Society, and the Saint Andrews Society. Any woman 18 years old or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, can be a member of the DAR.
