Bad Links? | Around the regionBy F.C. FOODIE Life in the 21st century is fast-paced. With a click of the mouse, we can instantly be transported to any destination on the Web. We zip around in our cars from work to soccer practice and home without giving our journeys a second thought. In these rushed times, many busy couples and families only see each other around the dining table. But with two parents working these days, the meals is more likely to take place around a restaurant table than the dining room table. Fayette Countians love to eat out, and many times, their dining choices are not confined to the county. If you happen to be traveling around the region, here are some of Foodies picks. Im hearing a lot of good reports about Andres in Newnan. The restaurant is just off the historic Court Square and is manned by a chef and owner who grew up in Peachtree City. The establishment is only open for dinner and features continental cuisine. Check it out on your next foray into Coweta County. If you happen to be in Midtown Atlanta before a show at the Fox, check out Einsteins on Juniper Street. The restaurant just went through an impressive makeover and now boasts one of the more stylish and hip decors in the city. The menu is eclectic and features just about something for everybody. Another pre-theater or symphony option is MidCity Cuisine at 1545 Peachtree Street. Chef Shaun Doty has transferred his inspired dishes from Mumbo Jumbo in downtown to this beautiful space that used to house an Angelo and Maxies steakhouse. The restaurant was Atlanta Magazines pick as Restaurant of the Year in 2004. Dotys take on a brasserie is wonderful and the menu changes by ingredients available during each season. The same restaurant group that owns Einsteins also operates Garrisons, which can be found at several locations on the northside of town. The space reminds you of an old-fashioned chop shop and is the place to head if you love steaks and seafood. Any of these choices is sure to give you and your family a memorable night on the town. | |
