Zeier speaks to local builders associationEric Zeier, who was a record-setting quarterback at the University of Georgia and a six-year NFL player, was the featured speaker at the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgias recent Football Party. The meeting, held at the Wyndham Peachtree Hotel and Conference Center in Peachtree City, was sponsored by HomeBanc Mortgage and Kitchens Etc. Zeier, who now serves as vice president and area manager for HomeBancs Southern Crescent and Atlanta area operations, urged all those in attendance to achieve all that you can be. He listed the following ways to accomplish this: Step out of your comfort zone. Commit yourself to excellence even when nobody else is watching. At the end of the day, work too hard to allow yourself to lose. Attendees at the event were encouraged to come to the party wearing their favorite teams colors or creative fan outfits. Sammy Baker, vice president/builders services for Arrow Exterminators, won the prize given to the association member showing the most spirit for his Arkansas Razorbacks attire. The meeting began on a somber note, as attendees observed a moment of silence in memory of former President Jerry Ballard, who died recently in an airplane crash in Florida. The Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia serves builders in Fayette, Coweta, Spalding, Meriwether, Heard, Pike, Upson, Lamar, Butts and Jasper counties. More information about the group can be obtained by calling Sandy Boda, executive officer, at the association office. The telephone number is 770-716-7109. | ||
