Realtors convene for annual Spring BallWhat a dazzling evening at the Atlanta Airport Hilton Hotel on Saturday evening as the Fayette County Board of Realtors held their annual Spring Ball and honored the 251 members of the 2004 Million Dollar Club. It was a celebration of those agents achieving $1,000,000 or more in sales volume for the year. The six categories range from Active to Silver Phoenix showcasing the number of years one has been a member. Forty-five new members achieved the First Time Active level and Jan Trammell was recognized as a Silver Phoenix for her 38 years as a member. The evenings celebration also included the presentation of the Rookie of the Year, Affiliate of the Year and Presidents Award. Jennifer dOliveira of Prudential Georgia Realty was named the 2004 Rookie of the Year. Her beautiful smile could not conceal her jubilation as she was handed the award from last years recipient, Deanna Beckwith. Her heartfelt appreciation is best articulated in her quote after receiving her award: It is truly an honor to have been awarded the 2004 Rookie of the Year award by the Fayette County Board of Realtors. The Board is made up of an outstanding group of people, and I am thrilled to be recognized among them. I appreciate the endless support of my family and friends, especially that of my husband, Tuck dOliveira, and friend Elizabeth Brooks. I also want to recognize my business partner, Danny Thompson, for his constant encouragement and praise and my broker, Kathy Murphy, for her leadership and guidance. I also greatly appreciate the trust and confidence that my clients have placed in me, and I am looking forward to another great year in 2005! In continuing the tradition of awarding an Affiliate member who supports the board of Realtors by participating in board events and activities, but more importantly sharing in the boards vision, another special award was handed out to attorney Eric Slepian of Slepian & Schwartz. This most deserving award was accepted by Eric in a most courteous and unpretentious manner. His role, as a closing attorney in Fayette County, plays a huge role in many of the real estate transactions for local realtors. His comments reflect this high demeanor: I feel honored and humbled to be recognized by such a distinguished committee many thanks to you all! His feelings were reflected by partner, Gary Schwartz in a nod of approval. Surprising everyone this year with the 2005 Presidents Award, Cheri Scranage, 2005 Fayette County Board of Realtors President, decided to give this award to a group of individuals, instead of one person. The 2005 Leadership Team comprising 33 individuals who volunteer their time as vice-presidents, directors and committee chairs for the Board. It was a wonderful evening indeed. Special thanks to all in attendance. Following the award ceremony, the party continued with dancing until midnight. Kudos go out to the hard working committee members that put this phenomenal event together. The Fayette County Board of REALTORS is one of nearly 1,600 local boards and associations of Realtors nationwide that comprise the National Association of Realtors. As the nations largest trade association, NAR is The Voice for Real Estate, representing more than 1,000,000 members involved in all aspects of the real estate industry.
