Bad Links? | Christs Church at Whitewater announces spring programsChrists Church at Whitewater invites members of the community to participate each Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m. beginning in March, for the spring enrichment series entitled The Well. The program focuses on being renewed and refreshed by fellowship with Gods people and through His Word, a spokesperson said. Gordon Dampier, who presently serves the church as an elder and Sunday school teacher, will lead a three-week adult Bible study series entitled, Extreme Faith. The series will highlight the faith demonstrated by three patriarchs of the Bible. Dampier received his master of divinity degree from Emmanuel School of Religion and served in full-time ministry for 15 years. Dr. Greg Moffatt will lead a Family Life series beginning April 6. Moffatt will cover topics such as discipline and strong-willed children, current culture and the Christian response, and developmental issues for parenting (infants through teens). Moffatt is a child therapist in private practice, author of The Parenting Journey and professor of psychology at Atlanta Christian College. Other programs offered each Wednesday this spring will include childrens and middle/high school student activities from 6:30-7:45 p.m. A nursery is provided each week. The fine arts ministry conducts adult choir rehearsals from 6:30-8 p.m. and orchestra rehearsals from 8-8:45 p.m. The choir and orchestra are led by Dr. Byron Cartwright and Dr. Katie Cartwright. The kitchen ministry of Christs Church at Whitewater caters a weekly family meal from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for ages kindergarten through fifth grade. Children 4 and under are free. Reservations are required by Tuesday at noon. Contact the church office, 770-461-1487, to make a dinner reservation.
