Bad Links? | Piedmont Fayette makes top-100 listPiedmont Fayette Hospital has again been named one of the nations top 100 hospitals by Solucient, an Illinois-based healthcare information company. The award recognizes hospitals for excellence in quality of care, operational efficiency, financial performance and adaptation to the environment. This is the second time Piedmont Fayette has received the award. The only other hospital in Georgia to receive the award is Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, which joins Piedmont Fayette as a subsidiary of Piedmont Healthcare. Piedmont Fayette was one of 20 hospitals recognized in the medium community hospital category, which range from 100 to 249 patient care beds. Open for seven years, Piedmont Fayette offers 24-hour emergency services, medical and surgical services and diagnostic and rehabilitation services. The hospital has more than 800 employees and a medical staff of more than 350 physicians. The new study from Solucient shows that hospitals in its Top 100 rankings set new national benchmarks for survival, safety, complication-free care and overall hospital operational performance. These recognitions uniquely belong to employees, physicians and volunteers at both hospitals who are dedicated to the performance standards evaluated by Solucient, said R. Timothy Stack, president and CEO of Piedmont Healthcare. The study scored facilities according to several key measures, including risk-adjusted mortality, complications, patient safety index, average length of stay, expenses, profitability, cash to total debt ratio, tangible assets per adjusted discharge and growth in percent of community served.
