Chinese surgeon to speak at PTC Church of Christs Friend DayZhai Shi Wei, a surgeon from China and director of the Peachtree City Church of Christs China mission, will be the featured speaker at the 6 p.m. service during the churchs annual Friend Day Sunday, March 6. Friend Day services will start with Sunday school/Bible study at 9:30 a.m. and worship service at 10:30 a.m. with pulpit minister, Aubrey Johnson, speaking. We set aside this special day each year to focus our efforts on inviting friends and neighbors in our community to come experience what the Church of Christ is all about, a spokesperson said. Zhai Shi Wei has been a doctor for 15 years and was graduated from Henan College of Traditional Medicine in 1989. He began his medical practice at Municipal Hospital of Nanyang in Henan Province, China, where he worked in the general surgery department. He was promoted to physician in charge in 1996. He completed his masters degree at Hubei College in Wuhan and his PhD degree at Tianjin University in Tianjin, China. He became the director of the China Mission, a work of the Peachtree City Church of Christ, in 2004, and presently is touring the United States to review medical facilities in order to return to China and build a hospital to care for the poor. The Peachtree City Church of Christ (China Mission) cares for about 600 orphan children in China, takes care of open-heart surgery for poor children, gives free medical care for the poor and elderly and aids in natural disasters.
