Bad Links? | Local woman named to Leadership GeorgiaFayetteville resident Tami Barron, a distribution operations manager with the Georgia Power Company, has been named to the 2004 Class of Leadership Georgia. Leadership Georgia is a prestigious 33-year-old organization of community leaders. The organization trains and builds a network of emerging young leaders throughout the state. Past participants include former U.S. Senator Sam Nunn and former University of Georgia Athletic Director Vince Dooley. Approximately 60 participants are chosen each year from a pool of several hundred applicants. They visit five Georgia communities to learn about important issues affecting the state. This year, they will visit Young Harris, Forsyth, St. Simons Island, Fort Valley/Perry and Albany. Barron served on the board of directors and the executive board of the Cartersville Bartow County Chamber of Commerce. She is an active member of five different United Way organizations in Georgia and Mississippi.
