Bad Links? | Teens face arson chargesBy LEE WILLIAMS Four 15-year-old Fayette County teens were nabbed for arson after they were allegedly caught burning real estate magazines and cardboard on the loading dock at Braelinn Elementary School. Peachtree City police responded to the schools parking lot at 975 Crosstown Drive in Peachtree City after receiving a complaint about reckless driving and juveniles skateboarding in the area. The first officer at the school located two juveniles sitting on a golf cart and saw a third juvenile who fled on foot, Peachtree City Police Chief James Murray said in a prepared statement. A secondary responding officer was able to put the fires out utilizing a nearby water hose. Police said the juveniles on the golf cart originally told the officers that they were there to put out the fire. However, police determined the information was untrue. The officers were able to determine that the two juveniles were involved in the incident when they located evidence on their golf cart, Murray said. The juvenile who ran from the scene was located with a fourth juvenile. These juveniles were also determined to be involved in the setting of the fires. The four juveniles from Peachtree City and Fayetteville were charged with arson. Two of the teens also were charged with obstruction. The juveniles were released to their parents custody pending an appearance in Fayette County Juvenile Court. |
