Bad Links? | Plans underway for second PTC-wide volunteer effortBy JOHN MUNFORD Organizers are gearing up for a second run at Community Action Day in Peachtree City Saturday, May 14, culling individuals and groups to help with special volunteer projects in the community. This year, the projects include two home remodeling projects, landscaping at three schools, cleaning up three cemeteries and three projects for senior citizens. Individuals and groups wanting to help on Community Action Day may sign up at www.peachtree-city.org. A planning meeting is set for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at City Hall. At the meeting, participants will review and finalize the projects, make assignments, elect team leaders and coordinate supplies. Mayor Steve Brown said some residents who need a helping hand to keep their homes and independence that city government cant perform. We certainly have the knowledge of the needs and can help bring them together with the hundreds of talented and giving volunteers in this great city. After Tuesdays meeting, the city will have a list of participating volunteer organizations that can accept donations of goods or resources for the event. |
