A comfy chair by a fire, a window seat looking out onto a dreary winter day, or perhaps a stone bench at a shopping center. Inspiration can happen anywhere, really, so keep your low-tech pen and paper handy. Of course, there are those whove taken to lugging their laptops everywhere they go. Doesnt matter - low-tech, hi-tech -- writing is getting done and the Peachtree City Library will be publishing local poets in the fourth Rhythm and Rhyme chapbook this April.
For the past three years, the call has gone out for authors to submit their poetry for consideration to Rhythm and Rhyme, in honor of Aprils designation as National Poetry Month. The publication of the chapbook is celebrated on the last weekend of April at a public reading event. This year, due to lack of space in the librarys temporary quarters, the event will be at the Kedron Field House Apr. 30 at 7 p.m.
Teens and adults in the community are invited to submit up to three poems for consideration. Guidelines and entry form are available at the library. The chapbook of all selected poems will be published by the Peachtree City Library Corporation, a Friends of the Library USA affiliate. Copies will be presented to all readers and authors the night of the event and extra copies will be available for purchase by the general public. The deadline for submission is Apr. 10.
