Bad Links? | Planning Commission picks chairmanBy JOHN THOMPSON Everything old is new again at the Senoia Planning Commission. During Tuesdays meeting, the Planning Commission elected officers for the upcoming year. Current chairman Jim Preece and secretary Lynne Wendt were unanimously re-elected to their posts, while absent member Craig Bowen was tabbed as co-chairman. In other action, the commission: Approved both conceptual plats and preliminary plats for homes on Morgan Street and Bridge Street. Set guidelines for agenda items for future Planning Commission meetings. While some items, such as subdivisions need a 30-day window for approval from city staff, other items can be turned out quicker. We dont have anything in the ordinance preventing someone who wants to add something to their house come in here on the Tuesday of the meeting, and asked to be placed on the agenda, said chairman Jim Preece. The commissioners decided such items would have to be submitted by noon the Thursday before the Tuesday meeting to be on the agenda. A set deadline would allow the proper paperwork to be distributed to the Planning Commission, Preece added. Approved demolition of a house at the corner of Barnes and Middle Street. Preece said you could practically walk up to the house and knock it over, and said the owner did not have the money to rebuild it and bring it up to code. |
