Bad Links? | Square foot Ministry plans workshop this SaturdaySquare Foot Ministry (SFM), a Fayette County volunteer building organization, will conduct its first workshop/conference Saturday, Feb. 19, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., at McDonough Road Baptist Church. Square Foot Ministry works with more than 25 area churches to provide repair and construction projects for qualified residents. SFM has built handicap ramps and decks, and has completed home repairs, up to and including the building of new homes. The largest project to date is the 2,400 sq. ft. Fayette Samaritans building, completed in 2003. The workshop will review the organizations beginnings and history, spotlight upcoming projects, and inform new volunteers of procedures and opportunities. Participants will have the chance to critique current methods and suggest new formats of operation. Dr. David Chancey, pastor of McDonough Road Baptist, will set the theme by starting with Matthew 25, Unto the least of these. Lunch will be served to those who pre-register. Reservations must be received before noon, Feb. 18. Call 770-460-5423 or fax 770-460-1814 for reservations. |
