Bad Links? | Minter students honor veteransStudents at Sara Harp Minter Elementary School in Fayetteville, in conjunction with the Martha Stewart Bulloch Chapter DAR, are making a big effort to pay tribute and express appreciation to hospitalized veterans. In recognition of National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week, which is the week of Feb. 14, classes in kindergarten through fifth grade have made individual Valentine cards for veteran patients. A large flag, containing over 150 hearts, was designed by first-graders. Joan Green, a member of the Martha Stewart Bulloch Chapter, National Daughters of the American Revolution, will deliver the patriotic items on behalf of the school to the Atlanta VA Medical Center in Decatur. The service and sacrifices made by our veterans to preserve our freedom as Americans has not gone unnoticed at Sara Harp Minter Elementary School, according to a school spokesperson. Their support of our veterans is something our community can be proud of.
