Atlanta Bread Company provides quick meals at the Pavilion
Looking for a healthy alternative to traditional fast food? At Atlanta Bread Company, you will find quality ingredients and endless variety, making this restaurant a great place to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Sandwiches make up the bulk of the menu at Atlanta Bread, and they are all made to order. Choose your meat, such as turkey, honey maple ham or chicken salad, fresh toppings and most importantly, bread. There are several varieties of bread to pick from, all freshly baked, including sourdough, French, nine grain, Asiago cheese, Italian pesto, honey wheat and tomato onion foccacia. The sandwiches start at $5.39 and include a bag of potato chips and a pickle spear.
The menu also includes a line of specialty sandwiches, including the popular panini. The Chicken Pesto panini is a personal favorite of restaurant owner Howard Aronowitz. This grilled sandwich features chargrilled chicken tossed with Italian pesto and topped with Havarti cheese and fresh tomatoes on focaccia bread, all for only $6.29.
"It is simply delicious and one of our most popular sandwiches on the menu," Aronowitz said. He is co-owner of the restaurant with his wife, Jenna.
Soups and salads are also popular choices of Atlanta Bread customers. The soup menu changes daily, and always includes a form of hearty chili and French onion soup, with three other varieties offered daily for $2.99 including a fresh roll. Salads choices include such specialties as the Chopstix Chicken Salad topped with toasted almonds, chow mein noodles and mandarin oranges for $6.49. Or try the Balsamic Bleu Salad, which combines field greens and Romaine lettuce with bleu cheese crumbles, toasted walnuts, Granny Smith apples and dried cranberries with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing for $6.29.
Customers enjoy the Half and Half Combo option, picking two of their favorites from the soups, salads and sandwiches for $5.99. With five daily soups, salads and over 18 bread options, the combinations are endless. For dessert, head over to the bakery side of the restaurant. Here you will find freshly baked muffins, over-sized cookies, danishes, pastries and generous slices of cheesecake in such flavors as chocolate truffle and Snickers.
"The cheesecakes are absolutely wonderful," Aronowitz said. "The featured cheesecake during our current Italian promotion is the Carmel Ricotta cheesecake."
To compliment it all, try one of the gourmet coffees offered in the specialty coffee bar.
At the bakery, you can also pick up fresh loaves of bread and bagels ready each morning. The Asiago Cheese bagel is a customer favorite. "Once someone tries this bagel, they are hooked on it," warned Aronowitz.
The loaves and other bakery items disappear quickly throughout the day, so come early to ensure you favorite is still available.
According to an Atlanta Bread Company customer survey, almost half of current customers eat at the restaurant at least once per week, and some more frequently than that. Aronowitz tells of one loyal customer who has visited the eatery three times a week for the last five years, always ordering the same thing.
"He likes coming here because everyone knows him and we are consistent with offering him good food the way he like it," owner Aronowitz said. "Even though we offer an extensive menu, he's happy with his choice, so that makes us happy too."
Making customers happy is a goal of Atlanta Bread Company. "We are dedicated and passionate to providing a caring and welcoming environment for our customers and employees," Aronowitz said.
The restaurant is also committed to helping others in the community, donating all unsold baked products at the end of each business day to area nonprofit organizations.
Along with their breakfast through dinner options, Atlanta Bread Company offers extensive catering services, including a full menu of sandwiches, salads, breakfast and desserts. Delivery is available for orders over $75.
Coming in April, the restaurant will unveil its Taste from the Far East promotion, showcasing Asian-inspired menu items. Look for the Asian Chicken Salad Sandwich, comprised of diced chicken with a spicy Asian peanut sauce mixed with sliced red grapes and toasted almonds, or the Shanghai Vegetable soup, including fresh vegetables in a coconut milk and curry broth.
