No fire deaths

The Fulton County Fire Department announced that for the second time in five years, there have been no fire-related deaths within unincorporated Fulton.

Zero deaths were reported to civilians and firefighters in the years 2002 and 2004. There was one death reported in the years 2000 and 2003, and only four fire-related deaths were reported in 2001.

The Fire Department plans to continue this trend by emphasizing fire suppression and fire prevention. One of their goals this year is to consistently improve training in fire suppression and increase expertise in technical rescue and hazardous materials response through the Special Operations Division. The Fire Department also plans to increase community outreach with fire prevention and fire safety programs through its Community Risk Reduction Section.
