Bad Links? | City getting info brochure for freeBy JOHN MUNFORD Peachtree City will get a professionally designed marketing brochure for free thanks to a contract approved by the City Council Thursday night. The brochure from A-Dale Communications will be paid for by advertising in the document, said Betsy Tyler, the citys public information officer, noted she often gets requests for general information about the city and a professional brochure would be nice to offer. She said the type of product provided by A-Dale Communications is very classy and the company uses professional writers, photographers and layout artists. City staff will work on providing the editorial content of the brochure, Tyler said. Also, all 2,500 copies of the brochures will be distributed by the city, she noted. The city has review and editorial control, Tyler said. The size of the brochure will depend on the amount of advertising sold, Tyler noted. The brochures size will affect the price of extra copies of the brochure which the city can purchase in addition to the first free run of 2,500, but any such order would come out of the public information budget, she said. Council changed one portion of the contract to allow use of the photos and other elements of the brochure on the citys Web site. Murray Weed, chairman of the citys Tourism Association, said a brochure about Peachtree City is one of the associations goals and that the association would also be involved in the project. |
