Attention to detail is Helton’s hallmark

Brick by brick, home by home, business is growing for Helton Construction Incorporated. The Newnan-based custom homebuilder has steadily developed a clientele of very satisfied new homeowners. Much of the credit is owed to owner Chris Helton and the extraordinary care and attention to detail each home personally receives from him.

“I approach each custom build like I’m building it for myself,” said Helton. “I want to make sure everything is perfect because I know the expectation a buyer has. To exceed that expectation is my standard.”

“We usually do a final walk-through on the home prior to the closing,” said Rodriguez. “It’s not uncommon with Chris’ homes to have virtually nothing that needs attention because Chris has already taken care of it. It makes for a very satisfied buyer.”

Seeing the finished product and knowing his buyers are happy with it are what drive Helton. A true love of his work is another factor that influences his custom homebuilding. “I really do love it, and I think that makes a difference,” said Helton.

Helton has been building custom homes since 1996. His work in construction dates back even earlier to 1990 when he started his own remodeling business, work he continues today as his homebuilding schedule permits. Helton Construction also builds a number of speculative or “spec” homes each year. In addition to Coweta, Helton has built new homes in many surrounding counties including Fayette, Meriwether, and Carroll.
