Bad Links? | PTC UMC youth offer help to local residentsLove One, Love All is the theme this year for the Peachtree City United Methodist Churchs Youth Groups Ultimate Life weekend. From Friday, March 11 through Sunday, March 13, hundreds of youth from the church will offer their services to local residents in need of housekeeping, yard work and minor home repairs who might not be able to hire such help. Each team of 8-12 youngsters will be supervised by an adult from the church. We hope to engage our students in a real life experience of being the hands and feet of Christ, explained youth director Randy Alexander. By sending them out to homes in their local community, we want them to learn the value of servant hood and community outreach. The group will take on a total of 20 to 30 homes and residents must be home that weekend to qualify. The deadline for filing applications is Feb. 28. To apply, contact Patty White or Stephen Soulen at 770-487-6499, or pick up an application at the churchs Welcome Center. The Peachtree City UMC is located on two campuses; 400 Windgate Rd. and 225 Robinson Rd. For more information, visit the church Web site, www.ptcumc.org. |
