Feldbauer, 51, a mechanic of The Trans Depot in Peachtree City, reported someone stole 20 business checks totaling $7,000 and cashed them at the Bank of Georgia. Stolen sportscar: Jong Ho Yoon, 17, of 4308 Merrick Drive, Peachtree City, reported someone stole his silver Honda sportscar, valued at $25,000. Fayette Co. Fire and Emergency Services Gas spill: At 8:51 p.m. Jan. 24, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services responded to a gas spill at 537 West Bridge Drive. Woods fire: At 12:30 p.m. Jan. 25, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services responded to a woods fire at 214 Seay Road. Building fire: At 5:03 p.m. Jan. 25, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services responded to a building fire at 165 Brookside Trace. Cooking fire: At 8:32 p.m. Jan. 27, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services responded to a cooking fire at 318 Carriage Oaks Drive. Gas leak: At 2:34 p.m. Jan. 20, Fayetteville firefighters investigated a gas leak at 1030 N. Glynn St. Smoke scare: At 6:30 p.m. Jan. 23, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a smoke scare at 155 N. Jeff Davis Drive. Accident: At 5:50 p.m. Jan. 26, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a vehicle accident at Hwy. 85 and Promenade Parkway. Firefighters helped free several victims from the wreckage. Structure collapse: At 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a structure collapse at 503 Swanbrook Drive. A portion of the carport collapsed on top of a car due to the ice storm, Fayetteville Fire Department spokesman Lt. Bill Rieck said. From Jan. 19 to Feb. 6, Fayetteville firefighters received 97 calls for help. Unauthorized burning: At 7:29 p.m. Feb. 5, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 175 Devilla Trace after a report of unauthorized burning was filed. Prank fire call: At 5:46 p.m. Feb. 2, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 175 E. Lanier Ave. after a fire was reported. A prank caller made the report. From Feb. 1-6: Fayetteville firefighters received 134 calls for help. Peachtree City Fire and Rescue Fire alarm: At 12:13 p.m. Jan. 24, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a reported structure fire at 1241 Robinson Road. Personnel and equipment arrived with facility being evacuated. The firefighters found no fire, but a water line for the sprinkler system had broken within the facility. Firefighters help remove the standing water within the facility. The building sustained some damage, but was closed for business by the Building Department. Fire alarm: At 1:06 a.m. Jan. 25, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a reported structure fire at 112 Kings Ridge Drive. Personnel and equipment found the fire out on arrival. The fire was electrical in nature and it caused some damage. Brush fire: At 4:19 p.m. Jan. 25, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a brush fire at 159 Rockspray Ridge. Personnel and equipment arrived to find a small brush fire next to the golf cart trail that was quickly extinguished. Brush Fire: At 5:19 p.m. Jan. 25, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a brush fire at 10 Celebration Way. Personnel and equipment arrived to find a small brush fire. The fire had been put out by an off-duty Peachtree City firefighter and some neighbors of the residence prior to arrival of fire units. Vehicle fire: At 10:25 a.m. Jan. 26, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a vehicle fire at 2185 Hwy. 54. Personnel and equipment arrived to find a vehicle engulfed in fire in the engine and passenger compartment. The firefighters extinguished the fire before it spread to other vehicles. Cars on either side sustained some damage due to heat and flames. The initial car involved in the blaze was destroyed. Vehicle fire: At 3:58 p.m. Jan. 27, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a reported vehicle fire at Script Falls and Kennerly Way. Personnel and equipment arrived to find a vehicle engulfed in flames in the engine and passenger compartment. The firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. The new SUV was completely destroyed. It appears the cause of the fire was electrical in nature. Gas leak: At 12:47 p.m. Jan. 28, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a gas leak at 2754 Hwy. 54. A construction crew had struck a natural gas pipeline causing the leak. A few businesses were evacuated and Highway 54 was shut down to traffic until the gas company could repair the broken line. Power lines down: At 2:03 p.m. Jan. 29, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to downed power lines at 110 Loblolly Circle. The department stayed on the scene until the power company arrived. Fire alarm: At 9:29 p.m. Jan. 29, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a reported structure fire at 406 Tantallon. The firefighters arrived to find that the occupant extinguished the fire in the laundry room with a fire extinguisher. The occupant was advised to contact an electrician or technician to check wiring and the washer and dryer. Peachtree City Fire/Rescue was spared many of the calls for help that other fire departments responded to during Fridays ice storm. Most of the utilities in Peachtree City are underground. This has drastically lowered the number of calls for wires down compared to other local departments. Fire alarm: At 9:43 a.m. Jan. 31, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a fire alarm at 1600 Barberry Lane. After an investigation, the alarm was determined to be a false alarm and had been set off accidentally. Fire alarm: At 9:48 a.m. Jan. 31, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a fire alarm at 201 Aberdeen Parkway. After an investigation, it was determined to be a false alarm and had been set off accidentally. Structure fire: At 7:28 p.m. Jan. 31, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a structure fire at 703 Smokerise Point. The fire was limited to food on the stove. Motor Vehicle Collision Mutual Aide: At 8:22 a.m. Feb. 3, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded to assist Fayette County Emergency Services personnel at an accident at the intersection of Hwy. 92 and Jimmy Mayfield Avenue. Firefighters and EMS personnel transported two patients to a hospital. Motor Vehicle Collision: At 3:31 p.m. Feb. 3, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a collision at the intersection of Hwys. 54 and 74. Fire and EMS personnel checked for injuries and transported one patient to a hospital. Motor Vehicle Accident: At 3:52 p.m. Feb. 3, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a collision at the intersection of Hwy. 54 and Peachtree Parkway. Fire and EMS checked for injuries. Water leak: At 3:43 p.m. Feb. 4, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a water leak at 411 Prime Point. Personnel assisted management in securing an outside water leak. Motor Vehicle Collision: At 12:40 a.m. Feb. 4, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident at Hwy. 74 South at the Publix Shopping Center. Fire and EMS personnel checked for injuries and transported one patient via Rescue Air One helicopter and one patient by ambulance to a hospital. Overcrowding at an establishment: At 10:16 p.m. Feb. 5, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded at the request of Peachtree City Police Department to investigate a possible hazardous condition concerning overcrowding at 288 N. Highway 74. The situation was investigated and deemed that the business was over their capacity rating. The situation was rectified with the assistance of Peachtree City Police. Brush fire: At 2:14 a.m. Feb. 5, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a brush fire at 112 S. Highway 74. Upon arrival, units found a small fire and extinguished it. Chimney fire: At 7:14 p.m. Feb. 6, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a chimney fire at 100 Fox Fall. The fire was out upon arrival. Structure fire - Mutual Aide: At 10:34 p.m. Feb. 6, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a trailer fire at 110 Grantham Way. Peachtree City Fire and EMS personnel assisted Fayette County Emergency Services personnel due to heavy call volume in the county at that time.
