Bad Links? | School incident leads to parents arrestBy LEE WILLIAMS A Peachtree City parent of an elementary school student faces criminal charges after he allegedly exploded into a yelling fit and acted in a threatening manner toward Oak Grove Elementary school officials Jan. 24. Jeffrey Webb, 43, of Harmony Village, Peachtree City, came to the school Jan. 21, and allegedly acted in a violent manner toward school authorities, Peachtree City police Chief James Murray said. Webb went to the school because he was upset with how the school had handled a situation where another parent had taken a toy from his child, Murray said. During the encounter, Webb leaned over the front office counter and began yelling at school officials in a very threatening manner. Murray alleged Webb told officials he was either going to hurt someone over the toy issue or go to the jail. Webb complied after he was asked to leave the school. Four days later, Webb was arrested at his job on a charge of disorderly conduct, police said. He was taken to the Fayette County Jail, where he was released after posting a $691 bond. Webb is expected to appear before the Peachtree City Municipal Court at an unspecified date. |
