Why Catholic? sessions begin at St. GabrielWhy Catholic? What do you believe in as Catholics? What is so special about the Catholic religion? These questions are often asked of practicing Catholics today and are often asked by fallen away Catholics and those just interested in why the Church believes and does things as it does today. The Catholic Church of St. Gabriel will offer small discussion groups to discuss four different aspects of the Catholic religion over the next two years with the first six-week sessions currently being formed. The groups will help cradle Catholics better focus on the teachings of the Church and will help them better explain the apostolic teachings to those in the workplace, explained Deacon Al McHugh who, along with religious education director Carol Guillory, will organize the small communities.. The first of the group discussions will be on the profession of faith. Groups will meet once a week for the six week period and will also include some groups formed especially for teens. The group discussions will meet at the homes of various parishioners and will be led by those who have received special training. For additional information or to register, call the parish religious education office, 770-461-0493 or the parish administrative office, 770 -461-0492. |
