A criminal warrant has been issued for a 23-year-old black McDonalds worker who allegedly raped a 16-year-old white Sandy Creek High School student.
Brandon Vishawn Price, 23, of Peachtree City, will face a felony charge of rape and a misdemeanor charge for furnishing alcohol to a minor, Maj. Mike Dupree of the Peachtree City Police Department indicated.
Price has been notified that he is wanted in connection with the alleged crime, Dupree added.
He called from another location and said he was going to turn himself in but he never did, Dupree said.
The rape, which involved a female student, was reported by another woman in Peachtree City Jan. 13, according to a police report. The suspect allegedly fled to another state after the incident, police said.
Dupree said the incident was not a random act of violence.
Sandy Creek High School Principal Roy Rabold expressed outrage about the incident, but indicated the incident did not happen on campus.
The suspect reportedly had a working relationship with the student, officials said. The incident apparently occurred at Prices home, according to reports.
It didnt happen at school, Rabold said. All we know is what the kids told us and how much is true I dont know.
The incident was the second reported rape involving a Sandy Creek High School student. One rape was reported last year and it also did not happen on school grounds, Rabold said.
Rabold indicated if the information he received through here-say is true, then he wishes swift justice for the alleged suspect.
If she indeed was raped that is absolutely horrible, Rabold said. i have two daughters and I would not want that to happen to anyone. I hope hes captured and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Rabold said help would be available to the student if she requests it.
