Winnie the Pooh a musical theater production
Fayette Ballet is having open auditions for children 4-11 years of age for the Winnie the Pooh musical theater production. Auditions are scheduled for January 29th at 3 p.m. and will be at the School of Performing Arts studios, 155 Bradford Square, Suite E in Fayetteville. There is a $10 audition fee. Rehearsals will be held on Saturday afternoons and will culminate with a theatre performance in April in Fayetteville. The entire production will be under the artistic direction of Michael Lee. Michael Lee, dancer, teacher, choreographer, received his early training with Beverly Williamson, Elvie DeMarko and Lelia Haller. Additional study included classes with Maria Swaboda and Leon Danielian of Ballet Theatre School; Alexandria Danilova and Muriel Stuart of the School of American Ballet and Vitale Fokine, New York City. Lee trained in jazz with Timmy Everettof New York. In 1986 Mr. Lee joined the New Haven Ballet as principal dancer and choreographer. Lee received his Bachelor of Arts degree at the Eruythmy Training Center in Vienna, Austria in 1976 and made numerous appearances in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. After relocating to the Atlanta area last year, Lee produced The Lion King for the Peachtree City recreation center. Through dance, song and drama this exciting and well-loved story will offer a creative experience for children ages 4-11 years. In the format of short stories, the production will offer not only a creative adventure for all, but also a wonderful educational experience that brings a warmth and smile to one and all, young and old. The cost for a participant is $245 with a discounted fee of $175 for a sibling. This fee covers all rehearsals leading up to the performance, production expenses, as well as costumes each performer will be able to keep. There will also be a party held in April that each performer will be able to attend. |
