Fayette Holiday Helpers was organized last November to serve the needy families in Fayette County.
In previous holiday seasons the Fayette County Department of Family and Childrens Services handled the needs of over 350 families requiring some help with food and gifts. The department decided it was more than its staff could handle and the Holiday Helpers was created by interested county citizens.
The community got behind the new organization and did more than its share to help meet the holidays needs of the less fortunate in Fayette County.
There were 467 families served which included 492 adults, 1,176 children and 59 senior citizens.
The Holiday helpers extend its sincere thank you to all its volunteers, individuals, churches, companies and service organizations who made it all possible. May God richly bless all of you who were involved, they added.
