Amid glitz and glamour, 26 talented young ladies will vie for the title of Miss Starrs Mill High School 2005 January 20, 21 and 22 at the Willie Duke Auditorium at Starrs Mill High School. The 4th Annual Miss Starrs Mill High School scholarship Pageant will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday evenings and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday evening.
Competing in four categories to win the coveted crown, each of the following contestants will perform a talent (35 percent), have a private interview with the judges (35 percent), and participate in both casual wear (15 percent) and evening wear (15 percent). Contestants this year are Lena Basilone, Alexandra Benson, Brady Brown, Jessica Coggins, Lora Farmer, Iris Gonzalez Aguirre, Jessie Hint, Stevie Rae Hoskins, Katie Houghtaling, Mandee Kulaga, Chelci Laggis, Rebecca Marsh, Kelli McCalla, Laura Jane Miller, Brittany Mistach, Rachel Nussbaum, Natalie Perez, Jillian Profeta, Rikki Purdy, Ali Ramsaier, Rebekah Rhodes, Megan Roseen, Stephanie Smartt, Emma Stitt, Heather Wilcox, and Lindsey Wilkens.
The Miss Starrs Mill High School Scholarship Pageant will award $4,000 in scholarship money this year. Miss Starrs Mill 2005 will receive a $2,000 scholarship, the first runner-up will obtain a $1,000 scholarship and the second runner-up will be awarded a $500 scholarship. An additional $500 Thespian Performing Arts Scholarship will also be presented.
On Saturday evening, one lucky student in attendance will walk away with a $1,000 Dream Prom Package door prize.
Tickets can be purchased each night at the door for $5 each, or make sure you dont miss any of the excitement and save money by purchasing a three-night ticket for $12. SMHS students may buy advance student tickets in the cafeteria during lunch.
