Grief Share offers support for those who have lost loved ones

For those who have participated, Peachtree City United Methodist Church has been a source of comfort and healing over the past two years through a grief support group called Grief Share. The healing will continue into the new year with the next class beginning tomorrow, Jan. 13, at 6:30 p.m. The class will meet each Thursday for 14 weeks. The new class will be led by Ed Craven and Susan Primrose.

The class is open to anyone in the community who has lost a family member or friend.

Primrose, a Delta flight attendant, was one of the original participants two years ago who sought support after the death of her 28-year-old son. She said she felt that Grief Share helped her immensely by teaching her how to deal with grief and live with it.

“I loved the class so much that I felt one of my purposes in life was to take a leadership role and use my experience to help others,” said Primrose. “The videos used in the class were so incredible. I felt like each one had a message I needed to hear. It’s worked for me and I want it to work for others.”

Primrose says she believes if participants would just come one time and try it out that they would feel the support and encouragement to make a commitment for the 14 weeks.
