Tiny Tots concert makes news at North Pole

A special guest from the North Pole took time away from his busy schedule to stop by Sandy Creek High to enjoy Christmas music and hand out candy to local elementary students.

Over 150 students from Robert J. Burch Elementary, along with several daycare centers and church groups in the Tyrone area, attended the Tiny Tots Concert in Patriot Hall at Sandy Creek High Dec. 10.

Santa Claus greeted the students while Sandy Creekís band performed traditional holiday songs, taking time along the way to show the youngsters how the instruments are played.

“It was a fun and interactive experience for them,” said Band Booster Scott Warren.

The purpose of the concert was not only to entertain the students but to also promote interest in Sandy Creek’s band program by educating the children about the different instruments used to make music.

Burch kindergartners Bryant Walker and Emily Floyd enjoyed the concert and their visit with Santa.

“The kids loved him. He was great,” said Assistant Principal Sharlene Patterson.
