Pie Burson
To Do Book-Signing at Columbus Barnes & Noble Store
When Carolyn Pie Burson had her witty autobiography Pies
Half-Baked Memoirs published last year, she expected that
it would only be of interest to her family and friends. Apparently,
though, her readership is broader than she anticipated, judging
from the reviews and sales of the book. Recently the Barnes & Noble
Booksellers in Columbus decided to stock the book and to invite
Burson to do a book-signing in the store. This book-signing
will take place beginning at noon on Saturday at a large table
in the front of the store along with signings by other authors.
Burson, who is 80 years of age and lives in Newnan, is a member
of the Coweta Writers Group, which was co-founded by her nephew
David Wilson of Grantville. Burson will be the second writers
group member to conduct a book signing at the Columbus store. Last
year, Todd Hardage of Hogansville did a signing there of his
Southern history/mystery novel Twin Oaks.
The Coweta Writers Group is composed of writers and aspiring
writers living in and near Coweta County. It meets at 7 PM on
the second Thursday night of each month in the Conference Room
of the Newnan-Coweta Public Library on Hospital Road in Newnan. Members
are hoping that Pie will be able to attend the next
meeting, on August 12, to share with them her Barnes and Noble
book-signing experience. Information on the Group can be obtained
by contacting David Wilson at 770-583-2918 or by email at gvilledave@yahoo.com.
