Educational Access cable TV channel createdThe Fulton County Board of Commissioners created an Educational Access cable TV channel during its Wednesday, June 2, 2004 meeting. The board voted unanimously to approve a 9-year agreement for the Fulton County Public Schools, through the Board of Education, to administer, operate and manage a television channel that addresses and promotes the educational interests of the citizens of Fulton County. Fulton County Public Schools will fund all operating costs, including programming, production, and equipment costs of the channel. County government will not incur any costs associated with the channel. The channel is one of four dedicated by Comcast Cable for public, educational and governmental use. In April 2004, the Commission created a Public Access channel to provide a grassroots forum for residents of unincorporated Fulton County to air community activities and programming. Fulton County operates a countywide government TV station (FGTV) on cable channels 21 and 23. |
