EMS Appreciation Barbecue

South Fulton Medical Center showed its appreciation and gratitude to EMS Responders in its service area by hosting a special EMS Appreciation Barbecue on the grounds of the hospital May 21.

“We are pleased to recognize and honor the contribution of these dedicated professionals whose commitment, efforts and talents touch many lives every year, and result in numerous lives being saved,” noted South Fulton Medical Center CEO Christopher Hummer.

Emergency Medical Technicians, police officers, firefighters and other local emergency responders were invited to the end of the EMS weeklong activities. South Fulton Medical Center also provided complimentary breakfast and lunch for emergency personnel during EMS week May 17-20.

Alongside hospital administration and emergency department personnel participating in the celebration, South Fulton Medical Center’s Community Advisory Board, a group made up of 10 local business leaders, also attended the celebration.

East Point Fire Department, Fulton County Fire Department, Grady EMS Rural Metro Ambulance and the City of Hapeville Fire Department were among several emergency responders units who were awarded plaques to distinguish the perpetual contribution to the community in their continuous efforts in emergency response.

Christopher Hummer added, “South Fulton Medical Center wants the plaques to commemorate the long lasting appreciation we and our community have for what they do for us.”
