Indoor Soccer signup underway

The Soccer Centre in Fayetteville is taking registrations for the Summer Indoor Adult league beginning June 12. Leagues are being formed for Mens’ Open, Over 30 Men, Coed, and Over 40 Men. Games are played weekday evenings, and all players must be at least 16 years old. All players must sign a release form. Sign-ups are also available for Muppet soccer. All games will be played on Saturday mornings. Each session begins with 30 minutes of training followed by games. The fee is $65 and includes a team t-shirt. Cheerleading camp next week

Please join the McIntosh High School varsity cheerleaders as they host a summer camp for girls ages 4-14 at Booth Middle School (due to the renovations at McIntosh) the week of June 14-18. Two sessions are available, 9:30 a.m.Ðnoon or 6:30-9 p.m. You may sign up by calling the Fayette Community School at 770-460-3900 x470 or you may sign up on site at Booth. The cost is $75 and all girls will learn a cheer with stunts, chants, and a dance. Each girl will receive a t-shirt, refreshments daily and a special gift! The girls will perform the last hour of their session on Friday for parents. Please make plans to join us.

Baseball camps set for June

Home Plate baseball will be offering camps June 14-17 and 21-24. All camps are 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $125 for the 4 days. Ages 6-15. Call Home Plate at 404-316-3557 for more information and to register. Our camps are run by professional instructors and will be concentrating on all aspects of baseball. At the end of each day, we will play a fun but competitive game.

OLM sets summer sports camps

Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School has announced its Summer Sports Camps schedule.

Coach Clay Cushman will conduct the girls basketball camp June 14-17. Coach Tony Caruso will hold the boys basketball camp June 21-25. Both camps will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Mercy gym. These camps will focus on fundamentals, skill building, and fun. The fee for each camp is $100 per camper.

Mercy football Coach Curtis Barrineau’s Mercy Football Camp will be June 14-17 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on the football field at Mercy. Fundamentals and fun will be the focus. The fee is $100 per camper.

Volleyball camp coming June 28

The Peachtree City Recreation Department will be offering a Volleyball Camp at the Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatic Center the week of June 28-July 2 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This camp is for girls entering grades 6-9 who are interested in learning the game of volleyball. This camp will provide instruction in the fundamentals of passing, setting, spiking, serving and blocking. Individual skills will be stressed and the importance of teamwork will be taught. There will be an optional swim time each day of camp and the fees include a new volleyball for each participant. The fee is $140 per person. Coach Stephanie Sneyd will be coaching this camp. Tennis camps available in PTC

The Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department will hold Tennis Camps this summer, taught by Craig Healy USPTA, P-1 at the Glenloch Recreation Center courts for children, age 4 to 14 years. Registration is now underway for the camps which will be June 15-17, 22-24, 29-July 1, July 6-8, 13-15, 20-22 and 27-29. The fee is $25 per week for Munchkins (4 to 7 year olds) and $50 per week for Junior (age 7 to 14). The camps will be held from 8:15-9 a.m. for the Munchkins Camp (4 to 7 years, 9-10:30 for the Juniors (7 to 10 years), and 10:30-noon for the Junior Stars (10 to 13 years). Tyrone announces summer programs

Registration for summer programs offered by the Tyrone Recreation Center are on-going, Monday Ð Friday from 8 a.m.Ð5 p.m. at 881 Senoia Road, Tyrone Georgia. Registration is taken on a first Ð come basis and all participants must complete the necessary paperwork and pay the fees that apply prior to the start of each class or activity.

• The First Step. “A Total Body Workout.” Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 8-July 1 or July 27-Aug. 31, 7-8 p.m., $25 per session or $5 per evening, ages 18 and up, Roger Spencer Community Center.

• Little Rookies soccer and baseball. Classes will begin with soccer the first 4 weeks. Mondays, June 7-Aug. 2, 9-9:45 a.m. or 10-10:45 a.m., $80 (includes t-shirt & certificate), ages 3-4, Roger Spencer Community Center.

Blue Devils signup coming soon

Signup is planned for the Fayette County Blue Devils’ 2004 fall season June 12, 19 and 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at McCurry Park Football Complex. Basketball camp set for summer

The Fayette County/Whitewater All-Star Basketball Camp is being planned for this summer for boys and girls going into grades 2-8. Session 1 is June 14-18 at FCHS, while Session 2 is July 12-16 at WHS. Each camp runs Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m.-noon. League tennis registration underway

The Southern Crescent Tennis Association, serving the counties of Fayette, Clayton, Henry, Spalding, and Coweta, has opened registration for the summer season of USA League Tennis. Teams for adult men and women are forming at all levels. Landmark offers summer sports camps

Landmark Christian School is offering several summer sports camps to the community this summer. The sports camps are for elementary and middle school students and will take place in June and July. The camps being offered this summer are designed to enhance the skill and knowledge of the student and to challenge students to maximize their potential. Summer camps coming to Tennis Center

The Peachtree City Tennis Center is offering seven weeks of summer camps for all ages and levels, rain or shine. Junior camps (ages 8-13) and Pee Wee camps (ages 5-7) are scheduled for the weeks of June 14 and 28 along with July 12 and 26. Former NBA players offer basketball camp

Former NBA players Litterial Green and Drew Barry will share thier basketball knowledge at the Practice with the Pros All-Star Basketball Academy this summer. The camp, open to boys and girls ages 9-18, will run from Tuesday, July 6 through Wednesday, July 14 at St. Paul Lutheran School in Peachtree City.

The tentative schedule has boys entering grades 4-6 working from 8:30-10 a.m., girls in grades 8-12 from 10:15-11:45 a.m., boys in grades 7 and 8 from 12:30-2 p.m., boys in grades 9-12 from 2:15-3:45 and boys in grades 6-9 from 4-5:30 p.m. The tuition is $295 for the eight day program and includes a t-shirt.

Green, the head coach of the Southern Crescent Lightning, played for UGA in college and spent time with Orlando, Detroit, Cleveland and Milwaukee in the NBA. Barry played his college ball for Georgia Tech and played with Seattle, Golden State and Atlanta while in the NBA.

NFL player to offer football camp in Atlanta

Former University of Auburn Tiger Travaris Robinson (T- Rob) currently of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be holding the first annual Travaris Robinson and Friends Football day camp on Saturday, July 17 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Decatur High School, 310 N. McDonough St. Atlanta, GA.

The camp will be free for children ages 7-17. The kids will spend a day learning football skills from T- Rob and his NFL teammates there will also be special celebrity guest appearances. Lunch will be provided courtesy of McDonalds and “The Varsity.”

Donations to the Travaris Robinson Foundation will be accepted. The Travaris Robinson Foundation supports Ronald Mcdonald House Charities of Atlanta.

Golf camp for juniors offered all summer

The Wendell Coffee Golf center in Tyrone will offer junior golf camps over the summer. The camps are open to ages 6-15 and run every week, Monday-Thursday, through August 9. The camps begin at 8:30 a.m. with warm-ups and feature swing lessons, work on short game, putting lunch and a golf video and play of nine holes on par 3 ending at 2:30 p.m. The fee is $175 per week, lunch, drinks and prizes included. Baseball event for high schoolers

Area high school baseball players (2005-2007 graduates) will have an opportunity to improve their chances of playing college baseball by attending Doyle Baseballs 2004 College Prep Showcase, to be held on Sunday, Aug. 29, at Georgia State University in Atlanta. The event is designed to assist high school players of all ages and parents with the College Recruiting Process and help players evaluate and showcase their ability as a potential college prospect. Players will perform in a tryout situation, and every player will receive a professional evaluation of their college potential.
