Builders to meet June 17

The Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia will recognize the recipients of the association’s 2004 scholarships at its June 17 meeting, at 6:30 p.m. at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center in Peachtree City. State Rep. Lynn Westmoreland will be the keynote speaker for the event.

The association’s $1,000 scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors from the area served by the association who are entering a college in the state of Georgia. Employees of businesses related to the building industry and/or students interested in field of study related to the industry receive preference for scholarships.

The scholarship program, which is funded by the association’s Scholarship House project, was initiated 22 years ago, and the association has previously awarded 181 scholarships totaling $223,500.

Sponsors of the meeting are Atlanta Gas Light and North Georgia Brick.
