Braelinn Services seeking help from community

Summer is here and Braelinn Community Services could really use your help, according to Cathy Berggren, executive director of the Fayette-based non profit organization.

“We are currently assisting over 150 families from Fayette County, and our supplies are running low,” Berggren said. “We provide food, clothing, household items, furniture, appliances, auto repair, career counseling, financial assistance and emotional support, and try to come alongside them as they walk through life’s tough spots.”

The organization is in need of many high-demand personal and household supply items, including:

• Diapers (sizes 4, 5, 6 especially)

• Feminine hygiene products

• Bar soap

• Household cleaning supplies (dishwashing liquid especially)

• Dry cereal

• Peanut butter/jelly

• Tuna/canned meats

• Macaroni & cheese

• Chili

• Canned tomato products (tomato paste, whole tomatoes, tomato sauce)

The center also is in need of summer clothing for all ages, children in particular.

The Furniture Barn will accept donations of furniture and working washers and dryers.

Arrangements also may be made for donations to be picked up. All donations are tax-deductible and a receipt is provided at the time of donation.

“Braelinn Community Services seeks to build relationships with our clients in order to help them make long-term positive changes to their lives,” Berggren added. “Our most important investment is on a personal level in our client’s lives. They frequently return to our center for encouragement, prayer and support as they travel along the road to a better life. “

Braelinn Community Services Service Center is at 382 Senoia Rd. in Tyrone, and is open to receive donations Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and from 5-7 p.m. Call 770-487-6691, extension 222, for more information.
