School board pushing year-round classes

In regards to a letter in last week’s opinion column, ”Why is BoE pushing more interruptions of school?” I too completed the online survey for the proposed school calendar for next year. I also opposed the October break and gave the same reasons as stated in the published letter.

When I read the Board of Education’s statement that the majority of people were for the October break, I found it hard to believe, remembering the responses of the majority of parents when the possibility of year-round school was raised.

And like the author of the letter in the opinion columns, I would like to see the exact numbers of people who took the poll and what the responses were.

It’s easy to see that Fayette County is rapidly pushing our children toward year-round school despite parents’ objections.
