Blood drive Thurs. at FCH

The Fayette Community Hospital Auxiliary and the American Red Cross will host a Blood Drive Thursday, June 10, from noon-5 p.m. in the Community Room at Fayette Community Hospital.

Many of the nation’s blood banks are suffering from low supplies as normal donors vacation this summer. Did you know that one out of every 10 people who enter a hospital require blood? Ninety percent of the population will need blood at some point in their lifetime, yet less than three percent of the population gives blood!

This summer, FCH Auxiliary is asking the community to help the American Red Cross through their low times. Eligible donors must be at least 17 years of age, weighing a minimum of 110 pounds. Donors can give blood every 56 days, or six times a year. Please call the FCH Auxiliary office at 770-719-7098 to schedule your appointment. Walk-ins are welcome; however, appointments will be honored first.
