Kid charged for rear-ending bike with golf cart

A Peachtree City youth suffered a broken foot after his bicycle was rear-ended by a golf cart last week, police said.

According to an accident report filed by the Peachtree City Police Department, Jeremy Charles Jones, 15, of 230 Longmead Dr., Fayetteville, was “intentionally” driving the golf cart “up on the bicycle’s rear tire” on Twin Bridge Lane near Grand Prairie Chase early Thursday evening.

The collision caused Taylor William Baird, 15, of Peachtree City, to crash his bike, and the golf cart ran over the rear wheel of the bicycle, police said.

Jones was charged with reckless driving and driving on the wrong side of the road, according to the report.

15-year-old cited after golf carts collide

A Peachtree City teen was issued a traffic citation after her golf cart collided with another on a cart path bridge near Blue Smoke Trail last week, police said.

Izanne Badenhorst, 15, was going downhill too fast just before the collision, police said. She told police she couldn’t stop to avoid the collision, according to an accident report filed by the Peachtree City Police Department.

Badenhorst was cited with violating a city ordinance prohibiting hazardous activities on the cart path system and failing to transfer registration on the golf cart after purchasing it, according to the report.
