Council OK’s contract for use of PTC logo

The Peachtree City Tourism Association has a deal to use the official city logo on special retail merchandise under an agreement approved by the association and the City Council.

As part of the deal, the city will receive 15 percent of the gross sales of the products, which will be sold at City Hall, the Gathering Place, Kedron Fieldhouse, the recreation administration building and the library.

The Tourism Association, which operates the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater, will also sell the products there.

The agreement for use of the city logo requires all use of the city logo to be approved by the city manager in writing before samples or proofs are solicited by the tourism association.

“Does it say somewhere in here that it can’t be tacky stuff?” council member Judi-ann Rutherford joked at last week’s council meeting.

The agreement, with a few minor changes suggested by City Attorney Ted Meeker, was approved unanimously by council.
