Breakthrough technology benefits people with aching feet

If you work in retail, medicine, a warehouse or construction, you probably spend the majority of the day on your feet. “It’s just the nature of the business,” said Ron Petty, a developer and contractor in Boone, N.C.

Petty estimates he spends 16 hours a day on his feet. “It seems like I’m always going to and from meetings or walking around a job site,” he said. “And until recently, because of a spur on my heel, I was always in pain.”

According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, foot pain is more common than you may think. More than 14.2 million visits were made to physicians’ offices in 2001 because of foot, toe and ankle problems, many of which are ultimately traced to improperly fitting shoes. “I tried everything to get relief. Massage therapy, orthopedic shoes, and inserts. Just when I had given up hope, I came across an insole that I consider a life saver,” he said.

A friend told Petty about Airplus Invisigel soles, manufactured by Implus Footcare LLC, a leading manufacturer of shoe products. The insoles, made with GE silicone and designed specifically for dress and work shoes, provide cushioning, arch support and shock relief, all of which are necessary to keep people who spend a lot of time on their feet comfortable.

“Silicone is extremely durable, and is the only breathable gel material available for insoles,” said Seth Richards, CEO of Implus Footcare LLC. “Since air is able to pass through the material, your feet stay cooler and more comfortable.”

“It’s like walking on a cloud,” said Petty. “With these in my shoes, my toes don’t cramp anymore and my feet don’t hurt.”

Invisigel insoles for men come in sizes 7 to 12. Invisigel insoles for women are available in sizes 5 to 11 under the Airplus for Her brand. They are gender specific to offer the best fit possible, and unlike other insoles on the market, they are smooth. There is no stickiness on the surface.

“I have these soles in every pair of shoes and boots I own and they were a great investment. Now I can get through the day without hurting,” said Petty.

You can find Airplus Invisigel brand insoles at Rite Aid and Kmart stores nationwide, at Fred Myer stores on the West Coast, Brooks Pharmacy on the East Coast, Wegman’s Grocery in New York, Meijer Discount stores in the Midwest, and H.E. Butt grocery stores in Texas. For more information, log on to www.airplusfootcare.com.
