Sims joins District Four Health ServicesPatrick Sims, a nine-year employee of District Four Health Services, joined the districts Emergency Preparedness team May 3 as the public health liaison. He will work with the community and with private healthcare providers to build collaborative partnerships to improve disease surveillance and emergency preparedness within the district. These partnerships will assist in assessment of the community and healthcare providers for public health planning and in facilitating communication between public health and private healthcare providers during disease outbreaks. He will also assist with community education regarding public health issues. A resident of LaGrange, Sims has worked as an administrator with the Women Infants and Children program since 2002. Prior to his work with WIC, he served District 4 as a Public Health Educator for five years and as a community epidemiologist for two years. His experience with communicable disease tracking and public health education as well as his familiarity with District Four and its programs make him an asset to the Emergency Preparedness team and to the communities served by District Four Health Services. |
