Veterans Advisory Committee forms for Dylan Glenn

In a press conference scheduled for Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., local retired military officers and enlisted men will come together at the Old Courthouse in Fayetteville to announce the formation of a Veterans Advisory Committee for Republican congressional candidate Dylan Glenn.

Attending committee members include Fayette residents Maj. Gen. Jack Wheeler and Brig. Gen. Peter Madsen, both retired Army. Also attending will be Howard “Bo” Callaway, chairman of Glenn’s campaign committee. Callaway is a former congressman from Georgia and a former secretary of the army. Regional Department of Veteran’s Affairs representative Ken Mills will also attend.

The committee also includes retired Army Brig. Gen. Philip Browning, who currently serves as the executive director of the Georgia Military Affairs Advisory Committee for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

The Veterans Advisory Committee will serve as a sounding board for Glenn on military and veterans issues, with members able to draw on many years of active duty military experience as well as experience in the VA system as administrators and patients.

Glenn, whose mother lives in Peachtree City, is seeking the open seat being vacated by Rep. Mac Collins, who is running for the U.S. Senate. Glenn’s opponents in the GOP primary in July are state Rep. Lynn Westmoreland of Sharpsburg and state Sen. Mike Crotts of Conyers. Glenn lives in Columbus.
