Evidence tampering, perjury charges filed on PTC coupleA Peachtree City man has been arrested for tampering with evidence and his wife has been arrested for perjury stemming from a civil case in Fayette County Magistrate Court. Michel Lamy, 61, was charged for writing additional language on a check which was later photocopied and introduced into evidence, according to a warrant for his arrest. Court documents indicate that Lamy later admitted under oath that he added that information to the check after it had come back from the bank. Melanie Lamy, 43, was charged with one felony count of perjury after originally testifying that she had written on the memo line of the check that the painting job should be completed before Thanksgiving Day, according to the warrant for her arrest. The Lamys, who live at 124 Shadowwood Lane, were defendants in the case brought by plaintiffs Hope Keldie and Michael Miller. Two arrested in Fville for trafficking methamphetamine
A Fayetteville woman faces a drug trafficking charge after she was arrested early Saturday morning at her home, police said. Patricia Watson, 32, of 1332 Ga. Highway 54, was arrested for trafficking in methamphetamine, police said. Drug agents found approximately 45 grams of crystal methamphetamine in her vehicle while it was parked at her residence, according to warrants for her arrest. Drug agents also arrested a Forest Park man at the scene who operated the vehicle when it pulled into the residence, police said. William David Treadwell, 39, of 5048 Old Dixie Highway, was also charged with trafficking in methamphetamine. Fayette County Magistrate Joe A. Tinsley denied bond for Treadwell but set a $25,000 bond for Watson. Pair cuffed for cocaine distribution charges in Fville An Atlanta man and a Decatur man were arrested Friday afternoon on drug charges after sheriffs drug agents found crack cocaine in their vehicle while they were at a Fayetteville shopping center, police said. Tiequion Wood, 30, of 2004-B Arthur Ct, Decatur and Donald Hamm, 52, of 958 Heart St., Atlanta were charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, police said. Wood is also charged with possession of marijuana (less than one ounce). According to warrants for their arrest, Wood and Hamm were in a vehicle in the Hudson Plaza parking lot where agents later found approximately 22.2 grams of crack cocaine. Police: woman bilked thousands from local attorneys firm A Sharpsburg woman has been arrested for bilking a local attorneys office of more than $30,000 by altering her payroll checks and in some cases writing checks to herself that she claimed were written to creditors, police said. Gayla Latham Johnson, 44, of 1045 Minix Rd., a former employee of Ballard and Ballard in Fayetteville, is charged with four counts of theft by deception and 12 counts of forgery in the first degree. According to warrants for her arrest, Johnson altered 12 of her payroll checks, increasing the payable amount by $1,000 in some cases and as much as $8,000 on one occasion. Johnson is also accused of writing four checks to herself which she had indicated on the firms check ledger had been paid to other companies, the warrants stated. Marijuana plant leads to arrest An east Fayette woman was arrested last week for cultivating marijuana after deputies found a marijuana plant growing in a five-gallon bucket in her back yard, police said. Ashley Michelle Odom, 19, of 342 County Line Rd. was arrested Wednesday, May 19 on additional charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects, police said. According to warrants for her arrest, Odom had approximately 3.1 grams of methamphetamine hidden under her couch and methamphetamine smoking devices in her bedroom. Auto theft reported at Fayette Pavilion A car was reported stolen from the Best Buy parking lot at the Fayette Pavilion Thursday evening. Daniel C. Mullis of Jonesboro told Fayetteville police that his black 2000 Honda Civic was stolen from the parking lot between 7:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m., according to a police report. The vehicle had bronze wheels and a mid spoiler; it was valued at $15,000. |
