A senior at McIntosh High School died Monday morning after her car collided head-on with a truck on Ga. Highway 16 in Coweta County, deputies said.

Kashia Keierleber, 18, of 2009 Bethlehem Church Road, Grantville, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Dep. Glenn Hand of the Coweta County SheriffÕs Department, who was the lead investigator of the crash.

Keierleber's car, a Saturn, crossed the center line moments before the collision as she negotiated a curve on the highway near Tope Road, Hand said. It is not known why her car crossed the center line, but it was seven feet across the line when the collision occurred, Hand said.

Keierleber was wearing her seat belt when the crash happened, Hand added.

Keierleber was heading east on the roadway when the collision occurred with a Ford F-350 driven by William Holder Jr., 29, of 403 Biggs Blvd. Warner Robins.

It was raining at the time of the crash, which may have contributed to the accident along with Keierleber's lack of driving experience, Hand said. The girl had only been a licensed driver for two months, the deputy noted.

" Any death like this is tragic," Hand said. "But it's especially tragic when it happens to someone with their whole life ahead of them."

The truck, which rolled over once after the collision, is owned by S&W Excavating of Warner Robins and Holder was driving a crew from Warner Robins to a work site in Carrollton, Hand said. None of the persons in that vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries.
