Residents and visitors traveling Ga. Highway 16 unto Senoia may have been wondering what happened to the giant kudzu patch near the entrance to the city near Pylant Street.

Well, wonder no more. City officials made it clear Monday night that it might soon turn into a city park.

Mayor Bob Hannah told the City Council at an earlier meeting that the property was cleared at virtually no cost to the city, and he would like to see a nice entryway into the city.

City leaders said they would like to see the area hydro-seeded first.

In other news, the city moved forward on calling a referendum to sell liquor by the drink in the city. The issue will go before the voters in November.

Mayor Bob Hannah also told residents that further discussion would be held at the June 7 meeting about Twin Lakes residents concerns about tapping into the sewer system.

Some residents voiced concern that they should not have to pay anything to hook up to the system, since they were on an old failed system. hannah said the city’s attorney was still trying to determine the legality of any agreements between the city and Twin Lake residents.
